I help my clients learn physiological and psychological strategies to improve mood, reduce anxiety, enhance focus and build resilience.
Many clients have tried traditional talk therapy but continue to experience persistent health concerns.
Through a unique combination of heart rate variability biofeedback and mindfulness based cognitive behavioural therapies, clients can strengthen their body’s innate modulation system for self-regulation, emotional control and stress recovery.
Your Autonomic Nervous System controls your breathing, blood pressure, sweat response, temperature through its two branches: the sympathetic nervous system (fight and flight) and the parasympathetic nervous system (rest and digest).
For example;
- inhaling speeds up the heart activating the sympathetic nervous system
- exhaling slows down the heart activating the parasympathetic nervous system.
Mindfulness
Mindfulness enhances our ability to become aware of our physiological states and recognize when our biofeedback skills are happening in the ideal way.
You will learn to improve your body’s baseline ability to manage stress, improve mood, reduce anxiety, decrease muscle tension and enhance focus.
The more you integrate systematic physiological training into how you manage stress and react to the world, the more control you will have over changing old and current patterns that do not work for you.
